FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When was Skipton Brewing Company founded?

Skipton Brewing Company was founded in 2026 by Ian Cowling and Dave Sanders after many years brewing for other breweries. We’re a small, hands-on Yorkshire team focused on quality cask ale.

What styles do you brew?

We focus primarily on cask ale, including blonde ales, pale ales, modern session bitters and traditional porters. Our aim is to produce balanced, drinkable beers suited to handpull service.

Who is behind the brewery?

The brewery is led by co-founders Ian Cowling and Dave Sanders. Louie looks after sales and works closely with pubs across the region, and Alex assists with brewing and oversees marketing.

Do you only use traditional British hops?

No. While we value classic British varieties, we also use selected modern hops where they suit the style. Flavour and balance always come first.

Where are you based?
